@Griever:  Because you start there.  Also, bridges aren't shown yet.
@Sala:  This is 1:1 to the pic you provided us.  You're the one who said it's this big, in other words.

It's good, but... can you move the central mountain over to the left some more?  We need adequate room for a town.  Also, some of the mountains seem a bit thin.  Think you can tweak em?  Also, can I see exactly how it looks with the grid over it?

The original continent is the same, but the details are too big. Here, I will upload another comparison image.

Spoiler for Comparison 2:

It still looks great, and we can use it if we reduce the size of the continents, but it would pretty much reduce the sizes of the continents from Angara-like to Indra-like.

thicker mountains? sure. can you mark where you want the town to go? I didn't know there was going to be a town. guess I missed that. I'll get one with a grid. it will probably be done tomorrow. I have chores for the rest oof today most likely.

@Griever: yeah. they start in the section with the landbridge.

That does nothing, Sala.  We asked you to post a full size version of your image - we've yet to see that.  The best we could do was blow it up to 5000x4000.  If you want us to make it bigger, then make it full size - make sure it's the size of Hesperia when you post it.

Ima get the world map and Salas and blow them up in photo shop to the size we need....

EDIT: scratch that... i failed miserably haha :P

best to plan it out as you been doing and then when the conversion is taking place, just work ontop the ordinal map as you will get an idea for size on it.

I can correct the size tomorrow. its pretty simple. I don't use photo shop. I hate it. I use paint and gimp. I'm just learning gimp though but I like it. I thought I checked the comparison between the middle continent and hesperia and they checked out ok, but I guess not. I'll check again though.

edit: actually, Role, it is the size of hesperia. the red is cut out and the blue spots pulled together, so it is proportional to it just smaller. also, can we just keep it that size. the others are also proportional. plus I have spent hours making that picture and have screwed up and had to start over 3 times. it being a little small shouldn't really be that important anyway right?

I think the size is right around where you would want it, here's a comparison of it to Atteka (rotated counterclockwise 90 degrees) to put things in perspective.

Spoiler for Comparison to Atteka:

Your continents are going to be a little smaller than you original planned, but I still think they're plenty big.  I would go so far as to say that they would have been too big by your original design, I mean how much content do you expect this game to have?

Edit: >_<, didn't see dwkjohn's edit before I posted this...

oops. that was atteka, not hesperia. thanx for that. I agree with you. and somehow I got the idea that role wanted an equivalent amount of game data as GS 2. maybe not.

also, Role, can you post just a blank grid so I can paste it on the full map with edited middle continent?
and should we work on continent names instead of "middle continent" and " lower right continent".
I was thinking:

Venus - Orbisarum
Mars - Ambustio
Mercury - Inringo
Jupiter - Animaura

all of these are latinish. i changed them a little bit to sound better. but they are Latin for their respective elements.

So we didn't even need to change the size then?

Sala, why are you complaining about it?

Hmm... right now it seems too empty, so one of the things we're going to have to do is fill it up.  The rivers probably needs more bends in them, we need more forests, etc...

I wasn't really complaining, I just thought that they were too small at first. However, now that it has been compared to both Atteka and Hesperia when they are at full size, I realize that they are larger than I had previously thought. It was my mistake for shrinking continents instead of adding some detail and comparing them. Sorry about that bit of doubt there. Sweat Drop

So yeah, a few more details and it will be pretty much perfect. A few more forests, maybe another river or mountain, and you are good to go.

Anyway, I shall get to work on some of the Venus continent soon. I have a few hours to kill before my exam starts, so that is something that I could easily work on. It will not have as much detail as dwkjohn's area though, but I will be able to make a colour-coded legend.

Yeah, I think the reason it looks so small is because there's just not much there right now - it looks empty, rather than full like the other continents.  We need the rivers to bend more, there should be more forests, the mountains should move a little to the left so it looks like there's some movement space on the mercury side, etc...

The landbridge should be covered in mountains, with either a path or cave passage through it.  I think sala said it'd be a good idea to have it act like a dekhan plateau-esque path, and I agreed.

Let's not worry about names yet - one thing at a time, right now we're looking into looks.

Hmmm... not quite what I meant.  Look at the rivers in the original game - notice how they bend alot?  Something like that.  We only need the same amount of rivers, just not as much of a straight line anymore.  Also, more forests.  Right now, it just looks really empty, so we're going to need to fill it out.

As for the mountains,  move the main one and the beat to that little dip downwards - about a centimeter to the left in the pic you posted there.

Salanewt: Oh my. To be honest though, I'd be more likely to give Briggs stuff from later regions; him being a pirate from another continent and all.
JamietheFlameUser: How not to design boss fights: give human-type bosses stats and equipment on par for what the Editor says their level is and what equipment is available where they're from. You get stuff like an actually scaled to level 21 Briggs with a Great Sword, Silver Plate, Silver Helm, Vambrace, and Leather Boots. God, that was BS.

Saturos: Wow first part of exam is ower (in english) tomorow speaking part.
JamietheFlameUser: Eh, I didn't know the exact chance of Curse screwing you over. Still, that 6% chance to fail to act at all could screw you over when it matters most. The obvious solution, of course, is to stick that armour on a character who doesn't do anything but spam attack moves anyway.
leaf: ...assuming I'm remembering the chance of curse taking effect correctly as 25%
Today at 07:09:50
leaf: in fact, you get two turns the majority of the time (~56%), and only completely fail to act ~6%, the remainder of the time getting one action
Today at 07:07:49
leaf: I like that stealth armor buff. it wouldn't make sense to do that with the clerics ring available, but if you remove that, it's actually an interesting item. On average, you get ~1.5 turns per round. it's potentially very strong, but carries risks
Today at 07:04:59
leaf: lol
JamietheFlameUser: Reading the Venus Psynergy topic and 'lol'ing at Role's reaction to a very simple spell idea I'd had (and still think is awesome), where rock explodes out of the ground from a single point in a focused, cone-shaped burst. Role read me the riot act about not combining elements again. lol.
JamietheFlameUser: Well, one thing I came up with that was actually potentially cool is a modification to the Stealth Armour. I gave it +1 turns, under the assumption that the Cleric's Ring would be removed. You might get 2 actions that round, or 1 action, or maybe no actions at all! RNG at its finest.
Knight of Purgatory: Nice orange text kain. Maybe it should be a shiny gold
Today at 06:03:40
